My weekend started off not so great. It all started Friday, when I spent 6 hours at the repair shop for brakes and rotors! Yes I know!!! They sold my rotors that I called in a week in advanced to avoid them not having them in stock. So I waited untill they were delivered from another location, that took 4 hours!
With all that said, I was having my childhood friend over for dinner that I had not seen in 7 years on Saturday. When I invite someone to my home for dinner, I want them to have an experience. I needed everything perfect and the house in pristine condition. My Hub LOOOVES to CLEAN the CLEAN! He's is very anal retentive and everything must be perfect. So leaving the shop at 3 pm along with work obligations left very little time to get a couple of things for this dinner, including necessary groceries and to Cinderella this house. Finally arriving home at 8pm we started with the cleaning and after a Red Bull ( I know they're bad), we finished around 1:30 am and couldn't fall asleep until around 3:30 am. After about 4 hours of sleep we woke up and rushed down to the Flower Mart and pick up my table decor. Finaly around 12pm, everything was set and perfect and even squeezed in a work appointment and then my friend arrived, We spent the late afternoon catching up while I coked and the dinner began.
All is well that ends well.
I know I recently posted a picture of my table, but I think I really outdid myself with this one and I just had to share it with you.
Now if Only I could eat like this every day!
The menu was Fettucinni with Alfredo sauce made from scratch, per her requst and I happily obliged .
The bedroom reveal is on its way! Just a few more pillow shams away!
Always,
How GORGEOUS! Magazine worthy pics!
ReplyDeleteOrlando... you and the hubs need to move to Texas NOW!! What a gorgeous table. Pinterest worthy. If you moved to TX, we could hit every Farmer's Market within 50 miles. Promise!
ReplyDeleteWouldnt that be nice! Buy a nice big House in Texas and we can go and paint the town PINK lol

DeleteHi, Orlando! This is my first visit to your blog via Marty's Tabletop Tuesday. I love pink so much I fear I may TURN pink someday! That's actually a good thing! The display of roses on your table is just magnificent! I love, love, love roses. Put 'em in pink, and I love 'em even more! I really like that you displayed the flowers in varied silver vessels.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on wanting to provide a real "experience" for your guests. Entertaining provides that opportunity to make someone else feel really special!
Your hubby's obsession with cleaning is what I live for!!!!!!! Cleaning is something that makes me feel good all over...most of the time! :-)
Nice to "meet" you, and I'm glad your dinner party turned out so nicely for you!!!
Thank you Alycia for stopping by and giving of your time! Marty always host good Linky parties and I get great people stopping by. I'm totally in Love with roses I've planted a few different varieties of rose bushes last year and I'm hoping they really blossom this year.
DeleteI always like to make my guest feel special, and something to remember. You may forget what people do for you or give you, but you never forget how they made you feel.
My Hub is sooo OCD its ridiculous, my friend who's a therapist says that it helps you focus when you have ADHD to have a clean and organized house .... I have ADHD and I do notice the difference.
It is so nice to meet you as well, I hope you stop by soon!
Always,
Orlando
